Jharkhand SI dismissed for connection with banned Maoist outfit PLFI

By Satyajeet Kumar: A Jharkhand Police 2018 batch, SI Manoj Kachhap, was dismissed for his connection and connivance with banned Maoist outfit PLFI. Manoj Kachhap was found to be having a close association with dreaded PLFI Maoist Awadhesh Jaiswal alias Chuha Jaiswal.

Jaiswal, when arrested by Jharkhand Police in February 2022, had confessed of enjoying proximity with SI Manoj Kachhap. He had admitted that Kachhap was their link with police who used to share input about the combing operation against the Maoist. Jaiswal had said that Kachhap abetted the PLFI in their operations.

After the disclosure and allegation of Chuha Jaiswal, a detailed departmental proceeding was launched against the SI Manoj Kachhap by SP Khunti Aman Kumar. In the probe and departmental proceeding, SI Manoj Kachhap was found guilty and SP Aman Kumar had recommended the dismissal of the erring SI.

DIG Ranchi Anup Birthare, speaking to India Today over the phone, said that he dismissed Manoj Kachhap on the recommendation of SP Khunti . SP Khunti had recommended the dismissal on the basis of departmental proceeding and enquiry conducted against Manoj Kachhap.

In his recommendation, Aman Kumar had disclosed that intelligence input was found to be shared by the SI and from security perspective such officers, were needed to be removed immediately.

The dismissal proposal was approved by DIG Ranchi in the month of March 2023.
