By India Today News Desk: After almost a decade, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Mumbai is likely to pass judgment in the actor Jiah Khan suicide case today (Friday). It was a decade ago, on June 3, 2013, that Jiah was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Mumbai’s Juhu area by her mother, Rabia Khan.
Ahead of the verdict in the case, Rabia said that she spent 10 years exposing the truth and now it’s up to the court to deliver the right judgment.
“We have spent 10 years exposing the truth based on factual evidence. Now, it is up to the court to draw the right conclusions,” said Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan.
Jiah Khan case
Jiah Khan’s then boyfriend, actor Suraj Pancholi, was arrested by the Juhu Police for abetment to suicide after a 6-page letter was found in her house that was purportedly written by Jiah. The suicide letter is said to have described their tumultuous relationship, and it was claimed to be a piece of evidence against Suraj.
Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan had, however, alleged loopholes in the investigation and sought that the case be transferred to the CBI. After hearing Rabia, the Bombay High Court had transferred the case to the CBI. However, CBI too concluded that it was not a case of murder, as was being alleged by Rabia, and concluded that it was a case of abetment to suicide itself.
