By India Today News Desk: Ahead of Arvind Kejriwal’s questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Delhi excise policy case, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) voiced its confidence in their supremo in a popular movie ‘Pushpa’ style and implied he wouldn’t bow down before the agency’s sleuths. Taking to Twitter, the AAP wrote, “Kejriwal rukega nahin” (Kejriwal won’t stop).
AAP’s online poster came after the AAP national convener, during a press briefing, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could have anyone sent to jail.
“They do not consider even innocent people,” he said.
Hours before his questioning began at the CBI headquarters, where security has been beefed up, Kejriwal also said that the central probe agency would arrest him if the BJP had instructed it.
Over 1,000 security personnel have been deployed outside the CBI headquarters and prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been imposed in the area to ensure no gathering of more than four persons takes place, officials said.
CM Kejriwal reached the CBI office earlier today while Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, MP Raghav Chadha, among other MPs, and ministers from the AAP sat on a dharna near the CBI headquarters.
On Saturday, Kejriwal said the central probe agencies have been “catching hold of someone or the other every day and are being threatened, tortured mentally and physically”, forcing them to name Delhi ministers in connection with the case.
He has termed the CBI summons as part of BJP’s “conspiracy” to eliminate members of the Opposition.
Kejriwal will likely be questioned on the Enforcement Directorate’s charge that AAP used the money generated from the alleged scam for election campaigning in Goa, said a PTI report, citing agency sources.
