By Satyajeet Kumar: Jharkhand Raj Bhavan has taken cognizance and sought a report within seven days from Devghar district administration after a girl accused a badminton coach of using obscene language. The badminton coach is posted at Krida Kislay Centre at Kumaithha Stadium, operated by the District Sports Authority.
The minor girl has alleged that the badminton coach called her and used obscene language to talk to her on April 21, after which she informed her family members about it. The family then approached Deoghar women’s police station, seeking justice.
Raj Bhavan, in a letter to Ranchi police, said the family alleged that the police did not file a complaint despite the complainant having the call records with her.
Though the case was filed against the badminton coach the next day, the police did not add the sections of Pocso (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act in the FIR, the family alleged.
“The badminton coach also provides training to the Police Superintendent due to which police failed to take time-bound action in the matter. In such a situation, there is no chance that the girl will get justice. Action must be taken against police officials for not filing a complaint. The report must be submitted within seven days,” the letter read.
