By Anirban Sinha Roy: The mysterious visit of senior TMC leader Mukul Roy to Delhi fuelled speculation over his next political move on Tuesday. However, Mukul Roy’s son, who had claimed that the TMC leader was untraceable, claimed that he was not in the right frame of mind and everyone should refrain from indulging in politics over an unwell person.
Mukul Roy’s son, Subhranshu, who had filed a missing complaint, claimed that the TMC leader is “mentally unstable” and must resign from politics.
Subhranshu alleged that his father’s trip to Delhi was a political game to malign TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee and questioned the source of the money used for his father’s travel.
“If my father joins BJP now, he will not join in a mentally stable state,” Subhranshu Roy, who is also a TMC leader, said at a press conference on Tuesday.

He also questioned the source of money that his father used to fly to Delhi, given that he earns “just Rs 21,000 per month”.
“Yesterday, a non-Bengali person was asked by an agency to hand over Rs 50,000 to Mukul Roy. Father has no money. Now my father’s monthly income is Rs 21,000. I have not had any contact with my father till now. I don’t know if he is taking insulin or not. Dad takes 18 pills a day,” Subhranshu added.
Citing his father’s health, Subhranshu Roy also questioned who would take responsibility for the leader if anything happened on his trip to Delhi.
“If anything happens to my father, who will take responsibility for him? I can’t say my father is a lunatic, but he is no less than that. He cannot say what the date is. His mental condition is very ill. He underwent spine and brain surgery. He has Parkinson’s and dementia. This is not done. They are playing a political game in this condition,” he added.
Learning about his father’s Delhi trip, Subhranshu claimed that he wrote a letter to the airport police requesting his secure de-boarding from the plane.
“He (Mukul Roy) left with two unknown people. I asked the IC of the police station and the airport manager to bring my father down from the plane. But that didn’t happen,” Subhranshu said.
Speculations over Roy rejoining the BJP gained momentum after BJP national secretary Anupam Hazra made a cryptic Facebook post, “Comeback”.
