By Rohit Kumar Singh: Former Union minister RCP Singh launched an attack against Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. He slammed the ‘Bihar Model of Lalu ji-Nitish ji’ and said that during the last 33 years, Bihar has not got a single five-star hotel.
In a long Twitter post, RCP Singh said that Bihar has a huge prospect in the field of tourism, which in turn would generate huge employment opportunities. “But because of the lack of a vision in the last 33 years, not a single five-star hotel has been constructed in the state for the tourists who are coming from both within the country and abroad,” RCP Singh said.
He made reference to several historical cities and places in the state- Rajgriha, Pawapuri, Nalanda, Bodhgaya, Gaya, Pataliputra, Vaishali, Kesariya- to highlight Bihar’s tourism prospects.
“Lord Buddha attained knowledge by doing penance in Bihar. Lord Mahavir was born in Bihar and attained enlightenment. One of the main desires of people who believe in Buddhism all over the world is to visit Bodh Gaya at least once in their lifetime. For those who believe in Jainism, visiting Pawapuri and circumambulating the entire area is a part of their life,” RCP Singh said.

He also mentioned historical cities like Gaya where every year hundreds of thousands of people come to perform ‘pindaan’; Patna, which is the birthplace of Shri Guru Gobind Singh; and Bettiah and Munger, which are important places of worship for Christians.
“Nitish Kumar has not understood that there are so many possibilities for tourism in the state. The fate of Bihar will change only when there will be integrated development of tourist places in the state. Nitish Babu, when tourists come, where will they stay? If foreign guests come, what will be the arrangements for their food and drinks?”
“Do you ever feel that there is not a single marriage destination in Bihar today? Politicians and officials working with the CM often go out of Bihar to search for a marriage destination. What is this Bihar model of development that has been created in the last 33 years by you and your colleague that Bihar today yearns for a 5-star hotel?” RCP Singh tweeted.
He said Bihar’s past has been glorious, adding, “The people of Bihar will not forgive you (Nitish Kumar) if any kind of harm comes to this!”
