Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who chaired a high-level meeting today to review the situation concerning Indians in violence-hit Sudan, has instructed officials to remain vigilant and directed them to prepare contingency evacuation plans.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of maintaining close communication with neighboring countries in the region, as well as those with significant numbers of citizens in Sudan, the PMO added.
Sudan has been witnessing deadly fighting between the country’s army and a paramilitary group for the last seven days that has reportedly left around 200 people dead.
