By Pushpendra Singh: A prisoner died under suspicious circumstances in the district jail in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri. The deceased has been identified as Bhure, a resident of Gihar Colony of the Mainpuri Kotwali area.
Bhure was arrested and sent to jail two days ago by the police after a warrant was issued. Accordingly, his health deteriorated in jail, after which he was taken to the hospital where he died, police said.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased alleged that the police took him away, beat him up, and killed him in the jail itself.
Santosh Kumar, CO city Mainpuri, said that Bhure was brought by the police on a Non-Bailable warrant (NBW) from the court, and his death is being investigated.

Former SP MLA Raju Yadav from Mainpuri has demanded that Bhure’s post-mortem should be done by the panel and compensation of Rs 20 lakh should be given to the family because one of his brothers had also died in the same way.

MP from Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav, has also questioned the government on the death of the prisoner in the jail and called for strict punishment to be given to the guilty police personnel.
The investigation into Bhure’s death is ongoing.
