By Pramod Madhav: A leader associated with the Hindu Makkal Katchi has sought the trifurcation of Tamil Nadu for better governance. He also claimed that Kongu region has not been given importance even though the region has contributed vastly to the state’s economy.

“Our Thamizhagam (Tamil Nadu) should be spilt into three. The southern district should be made into a state and Kongu region should be made another state”, said Arjun Sampath.

He claimed that such trifurcation would help in better governance and help people get more benefits from government schemes.

Arjun Sampath also stated that the resolution brought in by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin seeking equal reservation rights for Adi Dravidar community, who have converted to Christianity, is not legally valid.

“This is against the law brought by Ambedkar and is against the Scheduled Castes as this law has paved the way for many Christians to enjoy the benefits of reservation,” said Sampath.
