Punjab Congress chief into AAP govt over central funds to run its clinics

[ad_1]

By Lalit Sharma: Amused at the recent development of the Aam Aadmi Party leadership, which has accepted to bow before the Centre, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, said the step has exposed the incompetency of the AAP leadership, which is trying the trial and error method to ensure its political survival.

Questioning the vision of the AAP, Warring said, “If the AAP government was at the mercy of the Centre for funds, why did it waste the tax payers’ money in renaming the existing healthcare infrastructure in the state and why did it deceive the voters with their false propaganda and paid advertisements about the success of AAP clinics in Punjab? If the party had a clear path prior to the amendments, why did it succumb to the Centre’s pressure and agree to follow guidelines and make the required changes? This clearly exposes why the “self-promotion” party failed in fulfilling the poll promises.”

“Following in the footsteps of promotion-king Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann forgot to adhere to the guidelines of the Centre and deliberately put the lives of the people of Punjab, awaiting treatment at various government hospitals under the National Health Protection Scheme, at stake. Blinded by the ‘Delhi Model’, Mann forgot to concentrate on the progress of the state. Be it medicines, machinery or manpower, the AAP leadership deliberately neglected the requirements of hospitals and dispensaries,” he added.

The AAP woke from its deep slumber when the central government stopped funds for the Aam Aadmi Clinics, forcing the state government to make changes as per the central guidelines, Warring further claimed.

The deliberate violations by the AAP, which have adversely impacted the lives of the common man, have exposed the party’s anti-people face, he said, adding, “The AAP, which once was vocal about the misuse of tax payers’ money for self-promotion and branding, is now following on the same path it once condemned.”

Replying to a question about the Congress’s regime, Warring said, “Punjab had a robust healthcare infrastructure before the AAP came to power. “The Congress in its tenure stressed boosting healthcare infrastructure to provide better facilities for the people of the state. It was our determination and dedication towards the people of Punjab and our commitment towards the progress and development of the state that we were able to implement various schemes for the benefit of the residents of Punjab,” he said.

Lambasting the AAP’s Punjab leadership, Warring said, “The overambitious AAP must pay for its blunders. The leadership must bear the entire cost of the proposed changes from the party fund without wasting the public’s money or burdening the state exchequer.”
