By India Today News Desk: Police in Punjab arrested two men for allegedly harbouring Khalistani separatist Amritpal Singh, who is still absconding after a massive manhunt was launched against him, officials said on Saturday.
The arrested men were identified as Rajdeep Singh of Babak village in Hoshiarpur district and Sarbjit Singh of Jalandhar district, according to police.
Both were sent to one-day police remand after they were produced before the duty magistrate on Friday night.

On March 18, the Punjab Police launched a crackdown against Amritpal Singh and members of his pro-Khalistan outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’.
The Khalistani separatist, who remains untraceable, has been giving the police the slip several times by switching vehicles and changing his appearance.
SEARCH OPS IN PUNJAB-RAJASTHAN BORDER
Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched in the Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar districts of Rajasthan based on inputs that the Waris Punjab De chief could be in the desert state.
Intelligence inputs suggest that Amritpal Singh might have slipped to Rajasthan, which shares borders with Punjab. Based on the inputs, a secret search operation has been launched.
AMRITPAL’S AIDE PAPALPREET SINGH ARRESTED
Amritpal Singh’s close aide, Papalpreet Singh, was arrested by Punjab Police in Hoshiarpur on April 10. Papalpreet was arrested following an operation conducted by Punjab Police and its counter-intelligence unit. He was sent to a jail in Assam’s Dibrugarh.
