Raghav Chadha, Atishi among AAP leaders detained for protest against Kejriwal’s questioning by CBI

By Sushant Mehra: The Delhi Police detained several Aap Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, who were protesting outside the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office on Sunday. Delhi minister Atishi has also been detained.

The AAP was protesting against the questioning of Delhi CM and party convenor Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI in the liquor policy case. The Delhi chief minister appeared before the probe agency for questioning amid tight security outside the CBI headquarters.

Taking to Twitter, Atishi claimed that several AAP leaders were detained and “taken to an undisclosed location”.

The CBI had summoned CM Kejriwal on Friday seeking his appearance as a witness before the investigation team to answer their queries on the inputs generated during the probe in which his former deputy Manish Sisodia was also arrested on February 26, they said. The AAP, however, has called the case a conspiracy against its leaders.

Speaking on the summons, party leader Sanjay Singh said that the ruling BJP at the Centre was hatching a conspiracy to put Arvind Kejriwal in jail.

On Saturday, CM Arvind Kejriwal slammed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), saying there is no liquor policy scam.

He also lambasted the probe agencies, alleging that they lied in their affidavit that led to the arrest of his former deputy Manish Sisodia.
