By India Today News Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday hit out at the Congress government in Rajasthan over the acquittal of accused in the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts, accusing it of taking a soft stand against terrorists.
Addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Abu Road, PM Modi asserted the state government was following a policy of “appeasement” to save its vote bank.
The prime minister trained his guns on the Congress, and said it did not fight the 2008 Jaipur serial blasts case strongly, due to which the acquittals took place.
“Congress government in Rajasthan is afraid to take action against criminals because of vote bank politics,” PM Modi alleged.

He also said the law and order situation in Rajasthan had deteriorated under the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government.
Taking a jibe at the nfighting in the Rajasthan Congress unit, PM Modi further said, “The chief minister does not trust his MLAs, they don’t trust him.”
The prime minister was in Rajasthan where he launched development projects costing over Rs 5,500 crore, ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled to be held later this year.
