By Rohit Kumar Singh: RJD showcased a poster depicting Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the prime minister candidate in the 2024 General Elections. Despite the Bihar chief minister’s assertion that he was not keen on becoming the PM, his party showed its aspirations recently through posters showing him as one. However, the poster was later pulled down to avoid any controversy.
The poster was installed near the party’s office in Patna and Kumar could be seen sitting on the PM’s chair. The poster was put up by Poonam Rai, general secretary of the women’s wing of the RJD’s state unit.

Nitish Kumar is seen sitting on the chair as the PM and he is surrounded by a host of Opposition leaders including Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.
The poster thus showed Nitish Kumar as the consensual PM candidate among the Opposition.
It may be mentioned that permission from RJD State President Jagdanand Singh is required before installing any poster outside the party office. But it seems the poster was not allowed and it was brought down before triggering a controversy.
