By Dipaneeta Das: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has described the meeting between an alleged Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member and Trinamool Congress (TMC) General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee as “scripted”.
BJP district president of East Bardhaman Mritynjay Chandra denied the man’s association with the RSS, referring to the video as a “got up case”. He also accused the man, identified as Ujjal Kha, of donning attire to mock the Sangh.
“The Sangh is very active in the area. They work for the people. He just attempted to play the fool by trying to bad mouth RSS. The entire video was scripted,” he said.

ABOUT THE VIRAL VIDEO
BJP’s response came after a video went viral on social media where a man can be seen donning what is understood to be an RSS outfit and expressing his concerns to Abhishek Banerjee.
It is being claimed that the video was recorded at the Kaiti Football Ground in Raina area of East Bardhaman district on the 20th day of Mamata Banerjee’s Jan Sanjog Yatra.
“Dada, there are at least six lamp posts but electricity is not supplied in any of them,” the man who TMC claimed to be an RSS workers can be heard saying in the video.

Speaking during his public meeting on Sunday, Abhishek Banerjee continued his attack at the BJP, saying that everyone knew it is only TMC that cares about people’s issues.
“I told him (alleged RSS man) to submit an application and I will do whatever is under my jurisdiction,” Abhishesk Banerjee said. He also said that workers of BJP are not going to Sukanta Majumder or Suvendu Adhikari (Bengal LoP), instead they are coming to me.

BJP RESPONDS TO CLAIMS
Speaking to India Today BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul said that he was not very confident about Abhishek Banerjee’s claim and doubted that it could be a foul play that TMC has put up just for the camera.
“I am not very confident about Abhishek Banerjee’s claim that an RSS karyakarta met with him. It can be a foul play that the TMC put up just for the camera. They can stoop down to that level. RSS will best respond to this incident,” Agnimitra Paul said.
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya labelled the video shared on TMC’s official social media accounts as “ridiculous”.
“The entire cabinet including the Chief Minister will go to jail. There is a lack of transparency in the appointment of Group D in the Chief Minister’s own office. At such a time, how ridiculous is it to play such games? Trinamool is not a political party,” Bhattacharya told India Today.

RSS REFUTES TMC’s CLAIMS
Bengal RSS spokesperson Biplab Roy refuted any claims of the Ujjal Kha’s relation with the Sangh.
“He is a common man approaching the state leadership with common problems’. As far as we checked, there is no connection of the man with the RSS,” Roy said. He further indirectly jibed at TMC saying that since the sangh is growing the ruling party found it fit to use it’s name for their benefit.
