By Sagay Raj: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA, Dr Sudhakar, has claimed Siddaramaiah was behind the fall of the Congress-JD (S) government in 2019.
Alleging that Siddaramaiah did not pay heed to the problems of his MLAs, Sudhakar took to Twitter and said, “During the JDS-Cong coalition govt in 2018, whenever MLAs went to the then Coordination Committee Chairman Shri Siddaramaiah with their concerns, he used to express his helplessness and say that he has no say in the govt and his constituency/district works itself are stalled.”
He further claimed that Siddaramaiah used to assure MLAs to wait till the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
He also wrote, “Further, Shri Siddaramaiah used to assure MLAs to wait till 2019 Lok Sabha polls and come what may he won’t allow Shri HD Kumaraswamy led coalition govt to continue even for a single day after Lok Sabha polls.”

“Ultimately some of us had to inevitably quit Congress and go back to the people in bypolls, to protect the karyakartas and supporters in our constituencies. Can Shri Siddaramaiah deny the fact that he had no role, implicitly or explicitly, in this move by Congress MLAs?” he asked.
The BJP leader’s claims came at a time when sources confirmed senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah is set to be the next chief minister of Karnataka, while DK Shivakumar, another contender for the top post, will be offered the deputy chief ministerial post.

Earlier in the day, DK Shivakumar’s brother, DK Suresh, met Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge to rest Shivakumar’s case. However, DK Shivakumar, while talking to India Today, expressed his faith in the decision of the party’s high command.
