Teachers’ recruitment scam: CBI issues notice to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee hours after SC stays probe order

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Trinamool Congress MP and the party’s general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday in connection with the teachers’ recruitment scam.

According to sources, the CBI notice was hand-delivered to the Trinamool MP on Monday afternoon, hours after the Supreme Court stayed a Calcutta High Court order directing central probe agencies to question Abhishek Banerjee in connection with the teachers’ recruitment scam.

According to sources, Abhishek Banerjee is likely to file a contempt of court plea over the alleged violation of the Supreme Court stay order.
