By Rittick Mondal: Addressing a public meeting in Bengal’s North Dinajpur, Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, on Monday took a dig at PM Narendra Modi over the radio broadcast of Mann Ki Baat’s 100th episode.
Launching a scathing attack against PM Modi, Abhishek Banerjee said, “While our prime minister is busy celebrating the 100th episode of Maan Ki Baat programme throughout the country, I’ll ask him about people’s wages under the 100 days work scheme. It’s still pending, and you didn’t speak a single word about it.”
Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government has launched a movement to collect signatures to put pressure on the Central government to release unpaid funds.
“We don’t engage in politics in the name of caste, religion or death. For us, politics means roti, kapda aur makan (food, clothing and shelter), which are the due right of the citizens, along with quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities,” said Abhishek Banerjee
“People are struggling to get even two slices of bread and two morsels of rice,” added the TMC leader without naming anyone.

He continued to lash out at the Centre for withholding funds to the state. Addressing the meeting, he said, “If the people are with me, I will organise a larger movement and go to Delhi to make our people’s demand heard”.
Meanwhile, the BJP has claimed that the funds were withheld due to corruption.
