By Ritvick Arun Bhalekar: I clearly told Balasaheb Thackeray that Uddhav was not capable of handling or understanding things, and therefore, he made me the chief minister and not him, said former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and BJP leader Narayan Rane.
Speaking at Mumbai Tak Baithak, Narayan Rane, who is serving as a Cabinet minister at the Centre, also said that he could not compare Bal Thackeray with Eknath Shinde.
“I don’t know if Eknath Shinde can match the work that has been done by the chief leader of the Shiv Sena party,” said the BJP leader.
On the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, the former Shiv Sena leader said, “All the leaders in MVA are making statements against each other. I don’t think they will survive together for too long.”
He also said statements by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar in favour of PM Modi were a sign of upcoming political changes in the state.
Narayan Rane said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was happy with his work as an MSME minister.
“My MSME department has ensured that youngsters should get loans from banks, or else the RBI will take appropriate action against banks failing to disburse. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is happy with my work as a minister of MSME. I have utilised almost 99 per cent of the fund allotted,” said Rane.
