By Pramod Madhav: The menace of wielding weapons on public transportation, posing a threat to the lives of several passengers, is going on unabated in Tamil Nadu. In a recent such incident, police arrested two college students after their video of performing stunts with sharp weapons on an overcrowded moving train went viral on social media.
In the 10-second video, a youth can be seen wielding a sharp weapon on the railway platform while travelling on a moving train as other students stick their heads out to have a look.

Police said the incident took place at Pattabiram railway station on the outskirts of the city. The video shows one of the students holding a machete and others raising slogans against Pachaiyappa’s College.
Based on the complaint by Railway Police, college students Saranraj and Abinesh have been arrested by Avadi Police.
Further investigation is underway.
