By Suryagni Roy: With less than a week left for the Karnataka Assembly election, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee made an appeal to the public to not vote for the BJP.

Addressing an event in Malda, Mamata Banerjee said, “BJP’s downfall will happen and I will be happy if it starts from Karnataka. Voting is a public choice, but please don’t vote for the BJP.”

Karnataka goes to polls on May 10. The counting of votes will take place on May 13.

“In Karnataka, they are saying they will give three gas cylinders. In UP they said the same and didn’t give two cylinders,”

Mamata Banerjee also trained guns at the BJP-ruled Centre over the raids on her party leaders by the central probe agencies.

“In meetings, they say tomorrow IT will raid one’s place, day after ED, then CBI. As if God has sent him to do zamindari. Such arrogance.”

She further said, “They show ED and CBI in everything. Don’t worry everything will be withdrawn when new government comes. Don’t give up your fight.”

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee joined the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Malda on Thursday as part of his two-month-long outreach programme ‘Trinamool-e Nabajowar’ (new wave in Trinamool) in the northern part of the state as per PTI. Through the campaign, TMC aims to understand people’s views on their preferred candidates for the upcoming West Bengal panchayat election and use this information to nominate suitable candidates.
