By India Today News Desk: With its only citadel razed in the southern state of Karnataka in Assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now preparing to make inroads into Telangana.
Speaking at a public event in Telangana, Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma took a dig at the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) by claiming to establish “Ram Rajya” in the state by dethroning the “Raja” rule.
Addressing the Hindu Ekta Yatra in Karimnagar, Himanta said, “Raja rule (an apparent reference to the KCR government) will come to an end, and Ram Rajya will be established in Telangana.”
As Telangana is expected to go to Assembly polls in five months, the saffron party is believed to leave no stone unturned to mark its presence in the state.
On the results of the Karnataka Assembly election, the Assam Chief Minister said, “Yesterday, Karnataka results were announced, I saw people saying nothing is going to happen in India in the name of Hindu. I would like to tell them that until there is a sun and moon, India will be a nationalist country.”
He lashed out at the AIMIM chief and MP Assaduddin Owaisi, recalling his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi’s “remove the police for 15 minutes” remark.
“Owaisi, you cannot do anything now. Earlier, we kept silent to your threats, but now we will not remain silent,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking on the BJP’s long overdue resolve to implement Uniform Civil Code, Sarma said, “Uniform Civil Code will be brought in India. We have to bring a new civilisation inspired by the Ram Rajya through Hindu civilisation in Telangana.”
