By India Today News Desk: Jailed gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed’s lawyer Nisar Ahmad on Thursday said that they would oppose the police remand. Uttar Pradesh Police will seek the gangster’s remand for questioning in the Umesh Pal murder case. The hearing of the case is underway.
“Why does the police need remand when Atiq is already in jail and that too in a high-profile one? In such a situation, what is the need for interrogation? We will oppose this,” said Atiq’s lawyer Nisar Ahmad
Atiq’s health has deteriorated before the hearing. He requested the jail administration to meet his son Ali.
