Kalli Purie, the Vice Chairperson of India Today Group, praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s “sharp, unapologetic” observations in her welcome address for the Karnataka Roundtable 2023. Welcoming Shah, the first speaker of the day, she said, “Sitting with him (Amit Shah) even for a few minutes before an election, you get a bird’s eye view and a grassroots level mood. It’s quite amazing how he has a grasp of both. It is my privilege to have his sharp insight on the eve of so many elections. 

When I meet him, I still haven’t figured out, are they winning or losing. Amit bhai gives nothing away. All I know is that they fight every election like it is their last. It is always do or die. His observations are always clear, sharp, short and unapologetic.” 

Kalli Purie also introduced India Today Group’s two new South-focused brands – Karnataka Tak and So South, the group’s first video-based news service from the region.
