Days after the Surat sessions court refused to stay his conviction by a trial court in a defamation case, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday vacated the bungalow allotted by the government. 

This came weeks after Rahul Gandhi was asked to vacate his official bungalow at Lutyens Delhi after his disqualification as an MP. 

He was seen locking the house himself and handing over the keys to a staffer.
 
Rahul Gandhi was allotted the bungalow after winning Amethi in the general election in 2004. He was a Member of Parliament from Kerala’s Wayanad before his disqualification as an MP after the trial court ruling. 

The Lok Sabha Housing Committee had issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi to vacate his bungalow at 12 Tughlaq Lane by April 22.
